This is a four partner training practice situated in North Worcestershire on the Birmingham Border in a largely suburban locality with 6500 patients.  It was opened by Dr Steele in 1966 with 2000 patients.  There are two full time male partners and two part time female partners.

Dr Anne Francis graduated from the University of London in 1969 and joined the practice in January 1980. Dr Stephen Miskin graduated from Birmingham University in 1976 and joined the practice in August 1980. He is a GP trainer, is on the organising committee for lunchtime PGEA meetings at Selly Oak Hospital in  Birmingham and is a member of the Practice Based Commissioning Group and Executive Committee Group. Dr Sarah Moore is also a GP trainer; she graduated from St George's Medical School in 1989 and joined the practice as an assistant in 1995. She became a partner in 1997. Dr Tony Omo-Dare joined the partnership in August 1998.

In addition there are two full time registrar posts which are annual training appointments.  There are two part time practice nurses and a health care assistant.  Other staff includes a practice manager, secretary and reception and administration staff.  Within our building we also have district nurses, health visitors, counsellors, community midwife and a practice based pharmacist who are all part of the primary health care team but are not employed by the practice.

We have been computerised since 1989 and use EMIS PCS as our clinical system.  We have computer terminals in each consulting room and each of the treatment rooms used by the nurses.  The practice is LINKed to the Health Authority for registrations.  We also have a LINK with the local hospital for our pathology results.  In addition, we operate office systems on Microsoft Office together with the MYOB payroll system.  Out of hours is provided by TCN Limited (Take Care Now Limited) which covers the Worcestershire area.

We undertake a wide range of minor operations. The practice has specialised equipment including an ECG machine, blood sugar machine, nebulisers, spirometer, steriliser, electric ear syringe and electrocautery machine.

The practice offers a full range of preventative medicine including health screening, hypertension, asthma and diabetic clinics. Patients on repeat prescriptions are regularly reviewed and invitations are given to people for health promotion checks. The practice tries to prescribe safely, effectively and economically.

The practice nurses carry out general procedures and run child immunisation clinics and anticoagulation clinics.  In addition they advise on foreign travel, immunisation, health promotion and the shared care in the management of asthma, diabetes and hypertension.

The practice is located in a new building into which we moved in April 2007.
